I'd like to think that I am a patient man when it comes to almost everything except one and that is LOST. Yes, this past Friday I buckled under the pressure and watched the leaked copy of The New Man in Charge, and was generally satisfied. I think they had the perfect strategy for this release since these 12 minutes of footage wouldn't be properly appreciated immediately following the heartwarming denouement. Having us wait a few months to have the small things left unanswered answered was genius--just like the series as a whole.
Thank you!

PS I will still be buying the Season 6 box set Aug. 24th. So my watching the leaked episode did not detain your DVD sales ABC.
A blog where I will try my best to extract a chuckle from you. During our tremendous downtime I may also dabble in deep, nerdy discussions that range from The Battle of the Nile to the Battle of Hoth!

3 separate posts that combine to make 1!
My mom returned today (with my nephews) and as I waited for them to get off of the plane I went to the lighthouse model to envision a battle, and then I saw the sign that read: "Fire Island." This whole time I just assumed that the model was of the lighthouse at Montauk Point, never Fire Island. My imaginative, miniature battles have been flawed with fantasy!!!
Also, I saw the final two episodes of Happy Town on ABC.com this morning and I have to say that they were really good. I guess you need to get the supernatural stuff out there quick before people stop watching. It was good and the creators should do some sort of wrap-up with the series.
Finally, a big KUDOS to Peter Outerbridge for his portrayal of "Handsome" Dan Farmer. He played a deranged yet witty cop very well. Be sure to check out his other work from Millennium (another show that deserves a well-to-do wrap up).

A Salute to Joe Lawson
I have written a (great) spec script for Modern Family, and so I must stay current on the show. I decided to write this spec after missing the first five episodes, so I need to catch up when ABC shows re-runs. Last Wednesday's re-run was an amazing episode that featured an outstanding plot; Claire got her husband Phil a crappy gift for their Anniversary, so to make it up she hired the bass player for Spandau Ballet, convinced that her husband loved the band.
The bassist came by the house and started playing their songs and when alone with Phil the truth came out that he is not a fan of Spandau Ballet, and their song "True" is not he and his wife's song. Finally Claire discovers this and feels bad, to which Phil exclaims that their song is in fact "If You Leave" by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark.
So not only did this Joe Lawson write a plot that is my exact sense of humor, but he also referenced one of my favorite bands. Sadly, he referenced their hit and not a great track like Enola Gay, or Maid of Orleans, but that's just me nit-picking.
Great job, Joe, I hope to one day work with you!

A Glimpse of a Star - Kim Kardashian

Now that I am a "celebrity" (see last post regarding my being on TV). I have come across some interesting items such as Kim Kardashian's resume. Check it out:
KIM KARDASHIAN
Kim Kardashian is a published model and "actress." She has been on TV like 4 times, and is on every red carpet because her step dad did some stuff in an old Olympics game.
Experience:
"Sex Tape" .............................................Self..................................Vivid Entertainment
"Keeping Up With the Kardashians" .................Self........................... Ryan Seacrest Productions
"Dancing With the Stars" (Season 7-3 eps).........Self ..................................ABC
Training:
Zero. Can you believe that? This girl has all the bare minimum talent necessary to do the things she has done!
Skills:
See above.
Now obviously, I had to leave out her contact info because Ms. Kardashian likes to keep her anonymity (ignoring the sex tape that catapulted her to the stars...to dance with?).
Now you may be saying to yourself: "this bitch has NO talent." And you'd be right to think so, IF you were NEVER on TV before. I for one have NEVER seen someone play the role of them self so perfectly. Could any of you have sex with a man, then get on a reality show where the little folk of America watch you dance and brand you a "star" (for 3 episodes)? I think not.
I for one applaud you Ms. Kardashian. You were my inspiration for getting on TV, and playing the role of myself as casually as I could. Sadly, noone wanted to have sex or dance poorly while doing so though. Those talentless bastards!
